District Convention is a time when members come together to celebrate all things CKI and Kiwanis Family. While there is business to attend to, the celebrations abound during this event. Awards for clubs, individuals and even honored guests are given out, celebration of our club presidents and graduating seniors plus the election of our 2025-2026 District Board. This is our biggest event of the year and you will not want to miss it!

Any member that has paid their District and International dues, that also comes from a club in good standing (Min. 15 members for 4 year, 10 members from a 2 year) can run for the District Board. Not sure what position would fit best?

Carolinas CKI Awards
The following Awards are due by December 31, 2024 and submitted through the below links.
- Society of Distinguished Collegians: The Society of Distinguished Collegians was established to recognize those members of Circle K International who strive for excellence in academics, service to campus and community, and commitment to the local club.
- Carolinas CKI Honorary Member Award: The Honorary Circle K Award was created to annually recognize and honor an individual within Kiwanis International who has made the most outstanding contribution to the Carolinas District of CKI. Those individuals, who are NOT Circle K members, shall be eligible to receive this award. Individuals may not be recognized with this award more than once. Nominations are submitted prior to the District Convention and voted on by the Carolinas District Board.
The following Awards are due by February 1, 2025 and submitted through the below links.
- Award Cover Sheet: Each club submitting an award will need to fill this in ONLY ONCE.
- Club Achievement: The Club Achievement Award aims to give recognition to the Circle K clubs that have excelled in their club operations. We look for achievements in Circle K Administration, Kiwanis Family activities, inter clubs, and both District and International involvement. It is also based on both service and non-service projects, leadership development, project implementation, and time commitment. Clubs must be in good standing at the District and International levels to be eligible for this honor. The Club Achievement Award is the highest award that a club can receive.
- Herbert W. Hennig Single Service Project: This award is designed to recognize and honor Circle K clubs that have produced the best single project or service during the year through dedication and selfless efforts.
- Lee Hyatt Interclub: The Interclub Award will be awarded to that Circle K Club that excels in building and sustaining friendships with other clubs in Circle K International.
- H.C. Evans Outstanding Kiwanis Family Relations: The Outstanding Kiwanis Family Relations Award will be awarded to that Circle K Club which shows excellence in fostering friendships in all of the Kiwanis Family organizations, partnering with Kiwanis Family members in projects and events, and working with all toward the Kiwanis mission to change the world one child at a time.
- Vic Vickery Outstanding Sponsoring Kiwanis Club: The Vic Vickery Outstanding Sponsoring Kiwanis Club Award shall be awarded to the Kiwanis Club who shows overwhelming support to their Circle K club(s), who provide Circle K members with all the guidance, encouragement, and resources to reach their fullest potential, and who excel in promoting unity in the Kiwanis Family.
- James G. Griffin Outstanding Kiwanis Advisor: The James G. Griffin Outstanding Kiwanis Advisor Award shall be awarded to that Circle K Kiwanis Advisor who goes above and beyond in guiding the club from the Kiwanis perspective, providing resources from the sponsoring Kiwanis club, and actively supporting Circle K activities and events.
- Dr. Wayne T. Adams Outstanding Faculty Advisor: The Dr. Wayne T. Adams Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award shall be awarded to the Circle K Faculty Advisor who excels in consistent guidance and support for his/her Circle K club.
- Robert G. Prongay Distinguished Circle K member: The Robert G. Prongay Distinguished Member Award shall be awarded to one Circle K Club member across the Carolinas District who shows an outstanding commitment to club activities, a positive, encouraging attitude toward other members, and a passion for Circle K International.
- Outstanding Club President: The Outstanding Club President Award shall be awarded to that Circle K Club president who excels in leading his/her club to success, represents and helps connect the club to the District, Circle K International and the Kiwanis Family, and embodies the Circle K International tenets of leadership, fellowship, and service.
- Outstanding Club Vice President: The Outstanding Club Vice President Award shall be awarded to that Circle K Club Vice President who goes above and beyond in assistance to the president and other officers, the committees, and the club as a whole, and who excels in the unique responsibilities the role of the office entails.
- Outstanding Club Secretary: The Outstanding Club Secretary Award shall be awarded to the Circle K Club Secretary who best helps the organization run efficiently by the maintaining of records, correspondences, and club communication; who submits regular reports in a timely manner in addition to his/her duties as a member.
- Outstanding Club Treasurer: The Outstanding Club Treasurer Award shall be awarded to the Circle K Club Treasurer who excels in bookkeeping, keeping members and his/her sponsoring Kiwanis Club informed of the club‘s financial status, and helping to encourage and maintain the financial health of the club.
- Outstanding Club Committee Chair: The Outstanding Club Committee Chair Award shall be awarded to that Circle K Club Committee Chair who goes above and beyond in assistance to the president and other officers, the committees, and the club as a whole, and who excels in the unique responsibilities the role of his/her office entails.
- Outstanding Club Non-Traditional Scrapbook: The Lloyd E. Coffey Non-Traditional Club Scrapbook Award will be awarded to that Circle K Club which has best created a scrapbook that documents the club’s activities in an innovative, engaging format. Scrapbooks will be judged for craftsmanship, layout, content, and creativity.
- Club Promotional Video Award: The Circle K International Promotional Video Contest is designed to recognize and honor those that craft an exceptional promotional video for the advertisement of Circle K International and our #CHOOSECKI!
- Outstanding New Member Award: The Carolinas CKI New Member Award shall be awarded to one Circle K Club member across the Carolinas District who joined CKI for the first time during the 2022-2023 term. They show an outstanding commitment to club activities, a positive, encouraging attitude toward other members, and a passion for Circle K International through their demonstrations and commitments to the three tenants of CKI.
- Outstanding Club T-shirt Design: This award is presented to the top three clubs that have a creative and innovative club T-shirt promoting Circle K. Print the form and bring it along with the physical t-shirt to be displayed during Convention. There will be a first, second and third place winner.
The following Awards are presented at District Convention and do not require a form.
- Member Mile Award: This award is presented to the CKI club that has the most miles traveled for District Convention. This is calculated by the number of members x miles traveled to District Convention starting at their main campus address to the convention location.
- Club Spirit Award: This award is presented to the CKI club that shows the most enthusiasm and spirit at District Convention.
- Most Service Per Club: This award is presented to the CKI club that has performed the most service across the entire term based on the information in the Member Update Center.
- Most Service Per Member: This award is presented to the CKI club that has performed the most service hours per member across the entire term based on the information in the Member Update Center.
- Most Improved Club: This award is presented to the CKI club that has had the most improvement since the previous District Convention. Clubs must be in good standing to be eligible. The award is based on increased participation across the district, increased membership and their commitment to CKI's three tenants.
- Outstanding New/Reactivated Club: This award is presented to the CKI club which has been chartered or newly reactivated since District convention 2024 until January 2025. This club has become an active and viable member within the Carolinas District. Clubs must be in good standing to be eligible. The award is based on participation across the district and their commitment to CKI's three tenants.
- Additional Awards such as the Distinguished Board Member Award and the Governor's Cup Award will be presented by the District Governor during the Governor's Farewell.
