Welcome from the Governor!

Hello Sweet Carolinas District!

If you don't already know me, my name is Anita and I'm glad to say I am the Carolinas 2008-2009 governor. Actually, glad is an understatement, I'm THRILLED! I have been a member of Circle K ever since my freshman year at Clemson University?for three years now. Attending district and international events over the past three years and meeting amazing people of all ages, has definitely helped me fall in love with the organization. I held a chair position on the district board my sophomore year, and this past year I was district-secretary treasurer. This gave me the chance to work closely with the governor and see the inner workings of the district. I had the chance to watch the Carolinas district improve tremendously this past year, and now I'm really happy to have been given the chance to help improve it even more this upcoming year.

I have several goals for this upcoming year, one of which is to further improve Kiwanis family relations. Our relationship with Kiwanis has greatly improved this past year. I would like to keep that relationship strong as well as establish a strong relationship with Key Club. This would include inviting them to Circle K events as well as attending various Key Club events throughout the Carolinas district.

On top of that, I feel that it is important we develop strong relationships within the district. For this reason I hope to increase the number of interclubs done within the district as well as find a way to promote district events better and have every club attend.

Another goal I have is to visit every club in the district. I have definitely learned this past year that communication is really important to keep a club active and strong. I plan to visit clubs either to attend social or service events, help recruit members, or help fundraise either for the club itself or toward a cause.

This past year we have also lost some clubs. I plan to make sure that all clubs regain their active status next year as well as build some new ones. It is the members  and clubs that keep this district strong, so it is important that we do not lose anybody.

I'm really looking forward to this upcoming year, and I'm hoping you all are too!!!

                                             K-love,

                                                                    Anita B. Iari
