Create a DSP Committee at your Home Club!

Would you like to help make an even greater impact on the lives of children touched by the Boys and Girls Homes’ programs? Then consider creating a committee at your home Circle K club that will focus on promoting our District Service Project (DSP)!

There are several ways to get involved in the DSP at your home school. However, there are two main focuses: advocacy and fundraising. You could form the committee to include both aspects, or just focus on one.

The advocacy aspect of the committee would promote the knowledge and understanding of abuse and neglect of children. Advocacy projects could include: having a speaker come to your meeting or to your school, holding an awareness campaign on campus, viewing a movie that relates to child abuse/neglect with a discussion afterwards, tabling with information in your schools main gathering area, or even just posting fliers around campus to raise other students’ awareness.

The fundraising aspect of the committee would aim to raise money for the Homes. Projects could include: bake sales, selling DLSSP t-shirts, auctioning off volunteers to be pied in the face, hosting a Jail-and-Bail or asking for donations at one of your advocacy events.

As you can imagine, there are an endless number of projects that you could do to both raise awareness and money for the children affected by abuse and neglect. Use your imagination and make a difference in the lives of the some of the children who need it the most!
